I just noticed today that I have 50 blog followers! I've been planning to do something to celebrate if and when I got to 50, so here we go!
I'm doing a giveaway for a 4x6 inch art print of one of my Halloween paintings. It's not too complicated to win, just visit the link below and leave a comment saying which of my Halloween pieces is your favorite. If I pick your name out of my plastic pumpkin, I'll send you a 4x6 print of that piece.
Here's a link to your choices of Halloween Art: http://justine-ehlers.deviantart.com/gallery/29600709
I appreciate having you guys as my followers and always look forward to reading your thoughts on what I come up with. :)
I'm going to collect blog comments for this giveaway for a week. Next Monday at 8:00 PM Central Time, I'll let you guys know who won. Oh, and if by chance I collect more followers throughout the week, you new followers should give this a shot too! Same to those who have my blog delivered in email form.
Good luck and thanks for following me. :)

ReplyDeleteHey Justine! I love your work! It was difficult choosing between the Werewolf and the Card Playing Skeleton, but I think I like the Card Playing Skeleton the best! Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see more of it!
ReplyDeleteWow! That was REALLY hard to chose! I really liked the Ghost Girl and the Card Playing Skeleton and the Queen of the Ravens but my favourite has to be Halloween Candy all the way! The entire picture and the colours just screams Halloween and I love the pumpkin face on the lolli! You have a really good talent! You should so do one of a monster dinner party! xxx
ReplyDeleteHaving some trouble with Blogger recognizing my log in...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite painting is Graveyard. The colors are amazing and it leaves just enough to the imagination as to what could be lurking behind the headstones.
Congrats on your 50 followers! I am happy to be one of them.
Blogger isn't working for me either :(
ReplyDeleteI'll enter!! I love your art ^^ I've always enjoyed your mark making and vibrant use of colour...It's really difficult to choose a favorite. I'd have to go with Vampire Bat. When I look into its wings I feel like I'm looking into a burning forest <3
YAAAY!! CONGRATULATIONS on such an awesome achievement!!! First off your Halloween Paintings are so colorful and super awesome and my favorites are: Spider Web, Spider but the one i love the most is Spider web...funny i love all the spider related paintings yet i have arachnophobia..lol
ReplyDeleteCongrats Justine!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great collection. Really like the feel of your work.
I have to say that I'm feeling drawn to the "pumpkin Patch"
That face is way classic!
Congrats
ReplyDelete//Cheer§
Thanks so much for the sweet comments everyone! :) It's no wonder I like blogging here so much.
ReplyDeleteL ~ It's good to see you here! Thanks for the compliment. The two pieces you mentioned are some of my favorites as well.
VainGlorySinner ~ I agree that that the Halloween Candy painting is true to the spirit of the holiday! When I was painting that, I thought about the excitement of picking through all my finds after trick-or-treating. :) I think the Monster dinner party painting is an excellent idea! I wonder how many of these characters I could fit at the table...
Other and Outside ~ Don't worry about Blogger's silliness. I can still tell who you are even if your picture isn't showing up. It's always something with this site! I have the same feelings about the Graveyard painting. That one is actually pretty special to me, because it made the cover of Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine last November. :) If you're curious to see what they did with it: Click Here
You can enlarge the picture on that page.
Thanks also for the congrats! I'm happy to have you here too. :)
Hiyoko ~ Thanks for the compliment and the remark about the bat's wings. I never saw them that way before, but now that you mention it, I'm seeing them differently. Very cool. As I said to Other and Outside, don't worry I can still see your name if not your picture.
Oh, and Hiyoko, I burned some Martin Denny and Esquivel CDs after your suggestion. I love both and it's the perfect music for the "tropical" weather we're having lately. Thanks for pointing me towards them!
Pixie ~ Thank you! :) Oh, that is so funny that you like my Spider and Spiderweb since you're afraid of spiders! Well, I'd like to think mine are pretty non-threatening. Although, I had an Arachnophobic teacher who couldn't stand to look at the spider who is lurking in the Spiderweb piece. So I guess you're braver than he is. :)
The October Boy ~ Hehe Why am I not surprised? I was going to guess that you'd either like the Pumpkin Patch or the Scarecrow painting!
Biff ~ Thanks! Aren't you going to enter this contest?
I've awarded you a Blog Award over on my blog!
ReplyDeleteI was just checking out your shop on Bonanza when I noticed the Old Maid Deck! How amazing is that?! I was wondering if you shipped to the UK because I would be very interested in getting those babies :D xxx
VainGlorySinner ~ Thanks for the blog award! That's so sweet of you. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I will happily ship to the UK. You can find the cards in my Etsy shop and also on my personal web site. Whatever is easiest for you! If for some reason, Bonanza gives you trouble with putting your address in for shipping, let me know. Although, I'm pretty sure I have international shipping set up.
Your starting to scare me Justine....my other favorite IS the scarecrow!
ReplyDeleteWell that's what I'm here for! ;)
ReplyDeleteBut really, look at your avatar and the theme of your haunt. I didn't need to be super psychic to get that one. hehe
congrats girl on the 50 followers!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Great blog and I am sure 50 followers is just the start!! To the future.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Thanks Stacey & The Frog Queen! :)
ReplyDeleteIt would be awesome if 50 followers was just the start! It's amazing to find this many like minded people.
Congrats on 50!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Copyboy! :)

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 55 followers!
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for a giveaway! Glad I didn't miss it.
(I'm about to do one too. :)
I love all of your paintings,
especially Queen of the Ravens and Graveyard.
(That's awesome that is made the cover of Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine!)
But my favorite is Halloween Candy.
It makes me smile every time I look at it. :)
Thanks Holly! Wow, you're making it in just under the wire with this giveaway! Luckily I'm always checking my blog comments. :) Oh, cool ~ I'll definitely keep an eye out for your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment on my paintings. :) Yeah, I can't express how thrilled I was to see my art on the cover of that magazine. I was in Barnes and Noble at the time and was actually looking for a different magazine. (I wasn't aware that the new AHMMs were printed) I just about screamed when I saw it on the shelf! The best part was seeing my name printed on the inside cover next to Alfred Hitchcock's picture. :) I ran up to the cash register and had to excitedly tell the cashier that the cover art was mine. Haha, someone had to know! I think he said "Really? Sweet."
