Steins Halloween 2026

We had the perfect day to visit Stein's this year! It was warm, sunny, and bright. Some of my favorite Stein's photos have been taken on days when the sky is a bright blue. It always makes for a nice contrast with the orange pumpkins.

They'd put together a cute window display with scarecrows and sunflowers.

Part of the window display featured this old photo, which I'm assuming is of the original Stein Garden Center. I wonder when this was taken?

Maurice Stein must have been the original owner. I'm going to have some googling to do.

Their wood pumpkins were out.

Some bright flowers were decorating the front of the building.

To me these are unusual, because I'm not used to seeing celosia in bright orange. I usually see them in a bright red or magenta.

Inside the garden center here...

I think these little cuties were new. Without pumpkin...

And with... I'm not sure which I prefer.

Just look at all those pumpkins!

I tried to catch the names of the specialty pumpkins. These are the well-named Casper Pumpkins:

Snowbaby Pumpkins:

Noche Pumpkins:

Jester Pumpkins:

Lolita Pumpkins:

I love this name - The Squidmo Gourds:

"Squidmo" makes me think of Squidward from Spongebob, especially in this color green.

I'm not sure what kind of pumpkins these are. I'd taken a photo of a sign that said Poppy Pumpkins, so maybe that's their name? I tried to google Poppy Pumpkins and all I got were pics of pumpkins made into the Poppy character from the Trolls movies! Those creations were all very cute, though.

I'm also not sure about these.

Tiger Stripe Pumpkins:

Orange Sparklers:

It always makes me feel happy to see these little pumpkins.

The warty gourds:

Stein's had tons of mums out, row after row of them. These are some of the more vibrant ones I've seen.

It's always fun to see the decorative cabbages in fall floral displays.

And when you see the decorative cabbages, you're bound to see the cute little decorative peppers.

This almost looks like a fake pumpkin you might find at TJ Maxx.

How great is this gourd? It looks like some kind of creature.

They had some cute metal decorations out.

I saw this ghost in someone's yard a couple days ago. I feel like this one is new.

I had to check the sign to identify this. Are you guys familiar with Sorghum Stalks? From what I just read, this is a type of Millet and it's pretty nutritious.

The classic cornstalk reaching to the sky shot.

I really like the look of pumpkins in wood crates. The more rustic the crate, the better.

This is one of my favorites. I'm not remembering this cute pumpkin/witch/ghost, but I should check back and see if I have photos of it. It has a little something of everything.

The snowman pumpkins:

This one is always my #1 favorite. I'm thinking you put something fire related inside. You could add candles or a string of lights.

Cute little mummy owl:

I'm not sure if you can tell here, but these were much smaller than the others. I'm remembering them as maybe 4" or so tall?

These next two are more in the heavy cement category. A friendly garden frog:

It's always interesting to see some close-up photos of this colorful corn. Sometimes little lines and shapes appear in the kernels.

This guy greets you inside the store. I don't remember seeing a werewolf like this at any other stores. Actually, I haven't seen a lot of animatronic werewolves. I'm not sure why, because they're perfect for being large-scale props. Something cool about this one is his led eyes that move around.

I'm trying to think of how tall he was, definitely taller than I am.

There's a disembodied hand on the other side of the bottle, pouring it. I think this plugs in? I'm trying to remember if it does anything, like making a pouring noise.

Aren't these little highland cows adorable? I'm seeing them everywhere this year!

Aww!

I've seen these in people's windows. They're pretty fun. I'm calling them infinity lights, because it looks like the lights go on and on. Like when you look into a series of mirrors reflecting into one another.

A waving skeleton, which I think I've also seen in someone's window. I'm realizing as I type this how many people around here shop at Steins.

These remind me of cookies for some reason.

I know I've photographed this towel before, but it's too cool not to share again. 😄

Well, there we have it. Another fun year of pumpkins and colorful flowers. 🎃🌻🌼 I'm working on my yearly blog post of outdoor Halloween decorations around town. There are so many to photograph this year, so there will be a lot to share!
