The shelves are now filled with Halloween at TJ Maxx!

I have a second trip to TJ Maxx to share with you guys! I was happy to see some full shelves there this time. There's probably even more out by now. I'm starting with Marilyn, because she struck me so funny. Looks like her eyes light up too.

So here is that full shelf I was greeted with! Doesn't turning the aisle and seeing a full Halloween shelf fill you with excitement?

Sally and Jack salt-and-pepper shakers:

There were lots of cutesy ghost decorations this time. The colors in some of this photos are more dull than reality. There was some funky lighting and some shadows under the shelves.

I found this ghost to be so relatable. (That string on him comes off.)

I love these three! This is probably my favorite item from the trip. I like frog decorations in general, and these three are so spirited.

Their little friend here is pretty cute too. He actually isn't all that little. These are mostly sizable decorations.

This first skull is so piratey. If you look closely at the third skull, you might see that different parts of it are labeled. So it has a sort of medical skull look.

I have no idea what's going on here! Again, I laughed out loud by myself when I saw this. It's just funny to me. Is it a skull/snail hybrid? Is it a small skull biting a giant snail? Help me out here! Whatever is going on, it lights up.

This is genuinely spooky in person. I think a lot of you would like this decoration in your haunts. I can imagine it lit up with some colored lights in a graveyard display. You could really catch some shadows on her.

I meant to photograph this guy last time. He's my favorite snow globe or I guess glitter globe on their shelves. Just a casual little skeleton man in his private library.

Have you ever seen sheets with a Halloween pattern? I haven't.

Here's a close-up. These are pretty cute, if you're a change your sheet design for the holidays sort of person. I know some people do that for Christmas.

OK, now we're getting into probably their strongest section - Mugs! I love their mugs this year. I wish I needed some, had space for some, or an excuse for some.

Maybe my favorite?

Pretty much anything Halloween or pink I'm going to like, so these are all a slam dunk.

And the retro turquoise star snakes! I love them all.

These are candles, although they look like candy containers. Each has a little decorative something on top.

Aromatherapy ghosts! I have no idea how these work, although I would assume they're like a regular diffuser. Maybe some steam comes out of their heads?

Little bitty Halloween hair clips, like for a two-year-old, or someone who just wants to decoratively stick them around their hair.

There were a few Halloween beauty products left. I think all of what I shared last time was gone. Some "Magic Potion" soap:

How great are these false nails? Oh, I just now noticed that the blood drips are forming hearts in the bottom ones.

I think this is technically Halloween. I'm not sure what you get in here manicure-wise, but I love the packaging. This is the first vampire panda I've seen. This looks Japanese and if you shop at TJ Maxx, you've probably noticed a lot of Japanese beauty products in there lately. Korean too. I learned of that Korean snail mucous beauty cream from shopping at TJ Maxx.

Again, I'm curious if you guys are seeing the same sort of things at your TJ Maxx, Ross, etc. I still have to hit Jo-Ann's and Michaels. I'm sure they all have their Halloween out by now. 👻

Halloween is beginning to appear at TJ Maxx!

Hello everyone! Long time, no blog. I have been having a very busy summer, mostly because of gardening and other outdoor activities. I hope you've been having a fun and busy summer as well.

Yesterday's trip to TJ Maxx has pulled me back into the Halloween sphere. I was going to say that I was surprised to see Halloween items there already, but I'm really not. Heck, JoAnn's started putting out their Halloween stuff in June! I still have to get back there and take some pics. I'm sure the shelves are stocked by now.

TJ Maxx was just getting their start with putting things out, but it's just as well. I tend to get pretty carried away with taking photos, so it's good I was limited. They had some fun new decorations. (I've gotten used to seeing a few repeats over the years.) If you're into cute cat and dog Halloween items, you might want to head over there.

TJ Maxx always has beauty products with cute labels out for the holidays.

I think I remember the stacked pumpkin soap container from last year.

This Day of the Dead label was pretty and a little more metallic than it appears here. That glass skull has bath salts in it.

This reminds me of a skeleton lady cameo I have.

This cute little guy dances around and I think plays some music. I didn't try him.

This ghost is pearlescent. It's not exactly white, but more like opal.

I love these two! They're like Hello Kitty in ghost form. They're made from a soft, plush, sherpa-like material.

I'm not sure what the intended use of this next decoration is, but I think it's really cool. I imagine this as a centerpiece with candy in the cauldrons. Or you could put flowers in there instead. If it was much larger, the cauldrons could hold chips and dip.

I believe these next metal cauldrons are like jack-o-lanterns in the way where you'd put a candle or light inside.

Snake candleholders:

TJ Maxx had plenty of decorative Halloween "books" and I have a feeling they're going to have more coming in.

This book cover reminds me of a vintage postcard. Maybe it is taken from one. I love that spooked looking cat.

So there we have it (so far). I may go back and take some more photos as TJ Maxx gets more in. I think they had a pretty good selection for early July. Is this more or less what you guys are seeing at your TJ Maxx stores?

It's so funny how when I get home and look my photos over, I end up liking some of the items more. It could be that I'm taking more time to notice the details at home. Some of these are looking like DIY inspiration, like the candleholders and books. Don't the books look like something a person could do with decoupage? Hmm... I'm thinking of a possible project now. 🎃

Halloween is creeping onto the store shelves!

Now that it's August, Halloween items are making an appearance! A few days ago, I photographed any traces of Halloween I could find at Marshalls, Ross, Kirkland's, and T.J. Maxx. That, or any items that could be construed as Halloween themed.

The first stop was Marshalls. If I'd realized at the time I was taking this picture that I was going to include it on my blog, I might have looked to see what this cat/pumpkin was attached to. I think there was a ghost under the pumpkin. It looks like something white anyway.

In further cute cat items, Marshalls had these towel sets. "Purranormal Cativity"

"Creepin' it Real"

They also had lots of shiny/glittery pumpkins.

These rustic wood or wood-like decorations seem to be pretty hot now. I can imagine something like this on a much larger scale outside a pumpkin patch.

This next item was in the beauty aisle. While not Halloween related, I still think it was the scariest thing in the store!

It kind of reminds me of that sassy stretched piece of skin that was on Doctor Who. It's listed as having gold mica powder in it. Another brand claims to have actual 24K gold in it! I wonder why gold would be in a facial mask? If you really want to get scared, look up gold facial masks on YouTube!

Next up was Ross, which had by far the best deals. Marshalls and T.J. Maxx had some of the same products that were in Ross, only for a dollar or two more!

Ross had awesome prices but no Halloween displays. Luckily, they did have lots of Betsy Johnson stuff and Betsy loves her skulls! So close enough. A turquoise Betsy towel:

Love the trim:

This Betsy blanket reminds me of candy. Bright little skull-shaped candies. Looking at this picture is making me want to go back and get the blanket.

The most creative/wacky skull design on a blanket came from the brand Berkshire Blanket. Yes, that's a skull-shaped pineapple wearing sunglasses. Those were all over the blanket. This is equally summer and Halloween to me.

The most fun surprise of the day came from Kirkland's. I didn't know that Kirkland's was a beautiful housewares store with professional looking displays. For some reason I had it in my head that it was an outdoors store that sold camping supplies!

Kirkland's was definitely in the fall mood. They went so far into fall that they shot right into Thanksgiving! And... they bypassed Halloween on their way there. Although, if you visit Kirkland's web site they have lots of Halloween stuff on it:

Kirkland's Halloween section

The store itself had some nice general autumn decorations and lots of pumpkins.

See those succulents in the pumpkins? I've been seeing a lot of those lately. I think I saw some pics online of a foam Dollar Tree pumpkin hollowed out and filled with some Dollar Tree succulents.

This was my favorite display in Kirkland's. I love this! It's like a little flower shop.

Closing in on a few favorite elements here... I love the way these little flowers are displayed. I took a pic of this mainly so I could replicate it. I think a row of glass vases with a different fall leaf in each would look cool too.

And how cute is this candle label?

I like basically any little wagon I see. Add in that this one is shaped like a pumpkin and it's a real winner! If you collect Halloween figures or dolls, imagine how fun they'd look "riding" along in this.

I like the way they tied the colors together in this display and I like everything on it. Isn't that pillow fun and retro?

I'm including this pic because I like the way the shadows fell on the pumpkin.

Aww...

T.J. Maxx was the last stop. There really wasn't any Halloween there. So I had to stretch things a bit. But either of these two could be a good addition to a Halloween display.

An adorable Betsy Johnson black cat backpack. I want that cat's glasses!

And a classic silver skull along with a matching silver origami cat. The cat is covering its mouth, so maybe it's the "speak no evil" cat in a set? Or it's shocked to see a giant skull in its path?

Are you guys seeing any Halloween stuff on the shelves yet? I'd appreciate any tips on what's out there! Target has previews of their Halloween collection up and that's worth checking out:

I linked to the indoor decorations, because that's my favorite section. They have outdoor stuff, costumes, etc. on the site too.
