Home Depot Halloween 2026

I think it will be interesting to compare Home Depot's Halloween selection to what I just shared from Lowe's. Both stores had some amazing animatronics. I feel like Home Depot had a bit more humor in theirs. That might sound funny with what I'm starting off with here. Remember the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz? I don't know what's scarier here, the eyes or the teeth.

I took these photos a while back, but as I recall, the wings flapped.

This pirate section was one of my favorites. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney, and these remind me of that. You can't help liking this guy.

 

A skeleton with a bit of a beer belly. :)

The opposite of a beer belly:

This skeletal barista or bartender was all too real. I mean, he feels like he's a lot of actual people. And boy, did this one like to talk! And talk. And talk. It's one of those props you walk away from and he's still going. Oh, I see here he's named "John, the Last Call Mixologist".

 

He had some cool skeleton tattoos. Tattooed boney arms! This guy is something. And what's neat is that he stirs that little glass.

All lit up! How fun would it be if someone set him up in their bar or coffee shop?

This dude was a creeper. Look at those hands!

This guy! I love the comically tall hat.

 

Everything about him is great. My mind keeps flipping back and forth between "Is this scary or is this funny?"

That part of me that was scared by the raptors when I first saw Jurassic Park is digging this. It looks like someone hung a skeleton snake over his back and down his arm.

And check out his exposed meaty leg. Kinda gross.

 

Speaking of kinda gross, this thing! This baby troll. Blech! I mean that in a complimentary way. This prop gave me the heebie jeebies.

Remember him?

A plague rat! I feel like this prop said something kind of funny but I can't remember what it was.

Its head turns from side to side.

 

 

How fun are these? I think this was the first time I'd seen non-pumpkin fake food carvings.

I love these next two! How vintage can you get?

 

And a Halloween-themed Home Depot bucket. This wasn't for collecting treats. I think this was just a good looking, practical bucket. It was fairly large. Nice touch with the 2026 in the cobwebs.

Here's something nasty. The "Rotwing Parrot" was back with the pirates.

To me, this is a wicked gargoyle, but I want to say it was called a pixie.

The wings flapped and everything. Look at the attention to detail on these wings:

 

See that line under the spider? The spider shot forward along that.

How great would this be on the top of a building?

 

I got such a kick out of this plant monster for some reason.

 

He lights up in a really pretty purple.

So there we have Home Depot! Pretty great props, hey? As I said before, I felt like some of these were humorous. It could be my sense of humor. Well, next up is Menards!

Lowes Halloween 2026

The hardware stores have really been bringing the great Halloween stuff this year. I've been super impressed with the large scale figures I've seen at these stores. Actually, in some cases I've been more impressed than I was at Spirit Halloween.

I will have several hardware store posts to share. Starting with Lowe's, you're welcomed into the store with this treat vendor display:

They're creepy enough as is, but then BAM! Those creatures pop out of the treat boxes.

 

I thought that the "Ice Scream Delights" and "Rotten Candy" couple had a vaguely circusy vibe. I think they go with some of the clowns.  This creeper comes apart revealing...

A slinky?

This little guy swings back and forth.

I think I may have seen these guys in someone's yard last year. I'll have to recheck my photos, but I know someone had a skeleton band set up.

This is a close-up of one of those mini garden flags. I laugh every time I look at this picture. Do you think it looks safe to "take one"?

I loved the section against the back wall with all these smaller animatronics. There was a whole neon skeleton dance party going on. 

This little barking skeleton dog was my favorite small scale prop.

 

This next section has not been well fed!

 

This is probably the most mangy, emaciated werewolf prop I've ever seen.

The Disney/Pixar characters moved around and talked or sang. Minnie and Mickey sang some high pitched numbers. I want to say The Monster Mash?

 

A little side eye...

There had been an amazing prop between this ghoulie and witch. I really wish I'd had my camera when I was first at Lowe's, because it was my favorite scary prop there. It was this tall, scary reaper type guy that stood next to a lamp post. It had a skeletal hand that slowly reached and pointed to the side. It was just really well done. I guess someone else thought so too, because it was the only prop missing on my second trip. I can't even manage to find it on the Lowe's web site!

Check out that umbrella. I didn't remember there being a face on it.

 

This pumpkin scarecrow man was so cool! You guys know by now how much I like this type of character. His mouth moved in a way where it looked like the pumpkin was really indented. I mean, if you can imagine that a pumpkin came to life, it would move like this.

 

His teeth look a little like pumpkin seeds.

I want to say this skeleton lifting his skull was 20 ft tall. Super massive. I had to strain my neck to tilt up and take this photo.

Speaking of head lifters, this guy is great. I like this new addition to the pumpkin props where it looks like pumpkin guts are stretching slowly upward. I think the "guts" are strips of fabric slowly moving up. It's pretty effective.

I like the red glow on this one. It's like he has embers inside his face and chest.

A Lowe's employee who noticed I was taking a lot of photos was nice enough to offer to take a photo of me and my mom in front of the props. It looks like we're about to get beaned by a skull!

So, there's Lowe's. Home Depot and Menards are coming up next. From what I've seen this year, hardware stores are definitely the place to go for large scale props.
